Ben Springer has over a decade of experience working with government, industry, and non-profit entities on complex climate, clean energy and sustainability issues. As a Director on Finsbury Glover Hering’s Energy & Sustainability team, Ben provides strategic counsel on complex policy and public affairs engagements.
 
Prior to Finsbury Glover Hering, Ben worked with FTI Consulting, helping to establish the Strategic Communications practice’s work in power and renewables. He led client teams to develop and execute sophisticated communications and advocacy campaigns to reach political and commercial stakeholders. Before joining FTI, Ben was Senior Policy Advisor for Energy & Environment at the British Embassy in Washington, leading the British government’s engagement on climate, clean energy, and environmental issues across federal and state governments. He devised a first-of-its-kind “Great Green Road Trip” to promote British clean innovation and economic growth, facilitated best practice sharing in offshore wind development, and helped advance the UK’s successful bid to host COP26.
 
Previously, Ben worked for EDF, Inc., UN Foundation, and Ceres, developing expertise on electricity policy, utility regulation, climate policy and renewable energy. He earned a BA in International Studies and Religious Studies from the University of South Carolina, and a MA in Politics & International Studies from Uppsala University in Sweden. A native Midwesterner, Ben lives on a small farm in Frederick County, Maryland with his partner and their rescue dog, Lentil.
