As a managing director for the FGS Global Health team, Melanie Grayce West provides communications counsel and support to a wide variety of health clients including expertise in message development and delivery, executive visibility programs and issues and reputation management.
Melanie joined FGS after 15 years reporting for The Wall Street Journal. An experienced health and New York City metro reporter, Melanie is an enthusiastic collaborator and listener. Using the skills of a journalist, she crafts compelling storylines and finds unique perspectives on any subject, while using newsroom experience to help navigate clients through media engagements. Early in her career, Melanie was a major gifts fundraiser for a prominent political action committee and several non-profits based in Washington, D.C.
Melanie earned a MA in Journalism from Columbia University in New York City and received a BA in Government from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. She is a member of the board of directors for United Hospital Fund, a nonprofit addressing critical health care issues facing New York. A Texan, Melanie resides in Manhattan with her husband, son and daughter.
