Life Beyond FGS Global

Wanderer, news junkie, chocolate chip cookie aficionado. Lives in Washington, D.C., with her husband, who kindly humors her love of winter sports, and two delightful cats.

As a Director on Finsbury Glover Hering’s Food team, Jenny Hopkinson advises clients on communications and public policy issues related to food and agriculture.

Prior to joining Finsbury Glover Hering, Jenny served as the Senior Government Relations Representative for the National Farmers Union, leading the organization’s policy efforts on climate change and trade. During her time at NFU, she was key in the development of a farm group-backed legislative package on climate change, built organizational infrastructure for grassroots climate advocacy and worked for changes in USMCA to protect rural manufacturing and jobs.

Jenny previously served as an analyst in agricultural policy for the Congressional Research Service where she advised lawmakers and their staff on issues related to U.S. trade agreements, farm bill programs and the effects of retaliatory tariffs on U.S. agriculture.

The bulk of Jenny’s career was spent as a journalist in newsrooms across the Washington, D.C., region. She covered food and agriculture policy efforts at POLITICO for nearly five years, launching Morning Agriculture in both the United States and the European Union. Before her time at POLITICO, Jenny reported on the U.S. EPA for Inside Washington Publishers. She began her career as a reporter for The Daily Times in Salisbury, MD.

Jenny has a degree in Journalism from the University of Maryland and a Master’s Degree in Legislative Affairs from The George Washington University. She lives in Washington, D.C., with her husband and two delightful cats.
