Abby Major

Abby Major is a Managing Director in the Strategic Communications Division at Finsbury Glover Hering. She handles media and stakeholder relations, crisis preparation and response, and message development to raise client profiles and manage reputations in challenging media and policy environments.

Previously, she served as Public Relations Specialist at a global law firm, McDermott Will & Emery. In this role, she secured media coverage for lawyers and their clients and developed communications around firm-wide initiatives. Prior to McDermott, Abby was a Senior Account Executive at a public relations agency based in San Francisco where she worked with professional services firms to increase their visibility and position them as thought leaders in key markets. Before that, she worked in the executive office at the Brookings Institution, a D.C.-based think tank.

Abby earned a BA from Wesleyan University in its multidisciplinary College of Social Studies program. She lives in Washington, D.C., where she keeps the peace between a dog, a cat, and her partner, who thinks neither should be allowed on the couch.
